In-Person Lessons

Schedule an in-person private lesson with Brooklyn, NY-based saxophonist, composer, and music educator Sean Berry!

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s unique needs, and is designed to balance general musical progress with the student’s specific interests.

All musical styles and all topics concerning saxophone and general musical skills are covered.  Some typical areas of study include:

  • Saxophone technique
  • Tone production
  • Sight reading
  • Music theory
  • Ear Training
  • Transcription
  • Repertoire development
  • Ensemble playing
  • Improvisation
  • Composition
  • Rhythm studies
  • Musical interpretation
  • How to practice
  • Woodwind doubling (flute and clarinet)

By special arrangement, lessons are also available in beginning piano and drums, beginning to intermediate flute and clarinet, recorder, composition, or musicianship skills (ear training, music theory, rhythm and reading studies, etc.).  Ensemble coaching for jazz, funk, blues, and rock groups of any size is also offered.

All lessons are available to students aged 8 and older (or as early as 4 for piano, recorder, and basic music skills), and at any level, beginner to advanced.

Lessons are taught in your home or rehearsal space in Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Queens.
